All adults that will be volunteering with Troop 224 Boy Scouts and any adult that attends any overnight campout must have Youth Protection Training. The training is done online and takes 15 – 20 minutes. Once you pass the course it is good for 2 years.
To take Youth Protection Training go to https://my.scouting.org/. If this is the first scouting training you have taken on-line you will need to click on CREATE AN ACCOUNT to set up an on-line training profile. After you log into your account, select MY DASHBOARD, select the YPT link at the top center of the page, and select TAKE COURSE. Once you complete any training course please print out the certificate and bring it to a meeting or scan and e-mail it to Vann Newell.
Other online courses that are helpful are:
- Safe Swim Defense
- Safety Afloat
- Hazardous Weather
To take any of these log into your myscouting.org account, select MY DASHBOARD, select the TRAINING CENTER link at the top center of the page, select arrow to the far right of BOY SCOUTING AND VARSITY, and select the course(s) you want to take. Once you complete any training course please print out the certificate and bring it to a meeting or scan and e-mail it to Vann Newell.
There are many web based training courses on the site. Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader, therefore we encourage you to take as many courses as you like.
If you have questions about how to take these courses on-line please call Denny Forster.
